ODE Opt-Out Form & 30-Day Notice of statewide testing
Under the Student Assessment Bill of Rights, the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) and Oregon’s school districts must provide families with a “Notice of Statewide Tests and Opt-out Form” 30 days before the start of statewide testing. This year, school has been significantly disrupted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and other factors. In response, ODE asked the United States Department of Education for a temporary pause (also known as a “waiver”) in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math testing. A pause is also being requested for science testing, but science testing is not subject to this opt-out rule.
• If this waiver request is approved, then statewide ELA and Math testing will not happen this year, and there will be no need for parents to submit opt-out forms to their child’s school.
• If the waiver request is not approved, test windows will open on April 13, 2021. ODE will update your district regularly with news about the waiver.
**Please return form to your school’s main office.

Using ParentVue, the district’s parent portal, parents or guardians can securely register new or verify returning student information in all grade levels. This significantly reduces the traditional paper documentation that was previously completed in person then hand-delivered to schools.
To register new students or verify returning student information, parents can visit the district website at www.redmondschools.org and click the online registration link on the home page.
As we prepare for the start of the school year, ensuring all students have adequate computer access and internet connectivity remains a top priority. Chromebooks and mobile WiFi hotspots are available to check out from school again like they were last Spring.

Home of the Panthers
Welcome to Redmond High School, Home of the Panthers!
It is such an honor and privilege to serve the Redmond High School community! The students and staff are incredible, and RHS is a very special place. As we begin the 2020-2021 school year, we know we have some different challenges in front of us. We also know that together we can make a difference, so please connect with us in ensuring our students have the best possible experiences with their learning.
While we would love to see all of our students to start this school year, please know that we will stay connected with you to help our Panthers navigate Comprehensive Distance Learning, with the hope of coming back to school face-to-face as soon as we can. The vast amount of change in these past few months has been overwhelming for most of us, but we are Panther Strong, and we can do this!
