Pre-ACT Reminders

Posted Date: 04/14/25 (11:10 AM)

Freshman & Sophomore Students, Parents and Guardians,

This is a reminder that tomorrow, Tuesday, April 15th, RHS will be administering the PreACT exam to all freshman and sophomore students.

Room Assignments

Students have been assigned to a "sixth period" class called "Reaching Academic Potential" in Synergy which shows the location they will report to during periods 1-3. Students will report to their assigned classroom at 7:30. Students can view this class in StudentVUE by clicking on "Class Schedule" from the menu on the left and then clicking the Trimester 3 link at the top right. A list of all trimester 3 courses will appear and they can find the room location for the P-ACT. On test day, if they click on the "Class Schedule" link, the 6th period class will be the default on the screen and they will not have to click on the trimester 3 link to view.

Testing Information

The total testing time is around 3 hours: 2 hours and 10 minutes testing time plus 1 hour for pretest activities. The subject breakdown includes: English - 30 min, Math - 40 min, Reading - 30 min, and Science - 30 min.

Below are some important details to know for testing day

  • Check in for the exam will begin at 7:30 AM. Report to your 6th period class listed in StudentVUE. Testing should be concluded by 11:10.

  • Students should bring 3 sharpened #2 pencils, and an approved calculator.

  • Cell phones, smart watches, fitness bands, and any other devices with recording, WiFi, internet, or communication capabilities are prohibited. All such devices must be powered off and placed out of sight. Students may not handle or access their devices until they leave the test site.

  • Food and drink may only be consumed outside of the testing room during designated breaks.

  • Please encourage students to arrive on time. If students arrive after test booklets have been distributed, they will not be admitted into the testing room and will be sent to class.

  • Students will be excused from their normal first 3 class periods of the day and will attend periods 4-5 as usual.

  • If the testing time runs into lunch, the lunch break will be adjusted and students will also be excused from a portion of their 4th period class.
